What’s the role?

As our Quality Officer, you’ll play a key part in supporting the full manufacturing process—from goods in, through production, to goods out. Working closely with the Quality Management Team, Production colleagues and the Operations Manager, you’ll help ensure that all processes meet UFAS standards and internal quality expectations.

You’ll also be involved in investigations, audits, environmental monitoring and continuous improvement projects, helping us uphold our reputation for excellence.

This position is part-time (25 hours per week), worked Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day, and is based on-site at our Leominster facility (Glendower Road, HR6 0RL).

What will you be doing?

Goods In / Goods Out

• Checking raw material deliveries from approved suppliers

• Sampling materials and packaging

• Logging deliveries accurately and ensuring documentation is complete

• Conducting dispatch checks and reviewing returned goods

Production Quality Support

• Issuing batch documentation and labels

• Performing online checks: weights, calibrations, raw materials, components

• Reviewing batch paperwork

• Submitting samples for analysis and reviewing results

Quality Management System (QMS)

• Supporting HACCP and prerequisite programmes

• Monitoring pest control, calibration, environmental checks and supplier approval

• Assisting with internal audits, complaints, CAPA and regulatory inspections

• Helping maintain document control and SOP updates

General Quality Activities

• Providing training where needed

• Supporting process improvements

• Preparing KPI data

• Assisting with change controls and other ad hoc duties

What are we looking for?

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years’ QA/QC experience in a similar environment

• Strong investigative and problem‑solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal ability

• Good time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks

• Strong IT skills
